Two Days Inter-District Quarterly Review meeting (IDQRM)
Two Days Inter-District Quarterly Review meeting (IDQRM) held at Provincial TB Control Programme office, dated 10th & 11th Nov. 2021. The meeting was conducted under the leadership of Dr.Muddasser Shahzad, Project Director PTP-KP.
Respectable District Health Officers (DHOs) and Dist. TB Focal Persons from settled districts of KP, along with representatives from private sector partners (MC, ACD, GSM & MALC) participated in this long awaited meeting. Upon directives of DGHS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, inclusion of selected Medical Superintendents (MS's) from few District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospitals was done for the 1st time during this review meeting. A detailed comparison of programmatic indicators for year 2019 vs 2020 were discussed, along with achievements, issues and challenges also taken into consideration.
Dr.Wali Khan, Deputy National Coordinator TB NTP-CMU, along with Dr.Basharat Javed, M&E Surveillance Specialist at NTP-CMU Islamabad, both joined the meeting on 2nd day, giving their valuable inputs and showing their commitment and close coordination with PTP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During these 2 days review meeting, different issues being faced in the field, progress indicators and way forward to streamline and revive the program was thoroughly discussed. Almost all the participants were given equal opportunity to highlight the progress + challenges that they are facing at their district levels. The kind response of Respectable DHOs showed their strong commitment for Ending TB and achieving the set targets; with exception to facing the unavoidable circumstances and parallel challenges that are prevailing within the existing health system across the province.
The meeting ended with the commitment from DNC NTP-CMU and the Chair that all possible support will be extended to overcome the doable issues, & with the request from all DHOs to facilitate and strengthen their task force (i.e. Dist. TB Focal Persons) within the district, enabling them to be capable enough to achieve the End TB targets as per SDGs.
